Air France and Germany's Lufthansa were among global carriers avoiding Pakistani airspace, airlines said and flight-tracking websites showed on Monday, as tension between nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan remained high after a deadly attack in Kashmir last month.

Amid increasing tension between New Delhi and Islamabad following a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, several international airlines are avoiding Pakistani airspace, according to airlines' statements and flight tracker data.

Air France in a statement said that “due to recent tensions between India and Pakistan, the airline has decided to suspend overflight of Pakistan until further notice.”
